iPhones: Top 3 Reasons to Upgrade

At the end of last month Apple announced the new release of iPhone 6 and 6s. Now that it has been a few weeks, and some bugs are getting worked out; you might have started to wonder if it’s worth the $600 price tag. So what are the major improvements with the new model?

Bigger, faster, stronger

This year’s release has a better display. “The screen is great. It’s also made of really strong glass” says Viet, JustAnswer Mac Tech Expert. “The speed is also faster.” he says, referring to the 64-bit A9 chip that Apple says will make processing times up to 70-90% faster.

The overall size of the 6 and 6s is the same as last year’s release: 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. But if you’re still with a 5, 4s or older, you’ll need to consider this larger size, how it will fit in your pocket, etc.

That live camera

One of the coolest new features of the 6 is the live camera. It takes the shots before and after the shot you click on. You can also “play back” the image, like a short movie, helping you find the best picture. It takes 12-megapixel pictures with built-in technology to help focus and stabilize the shot. As Apple says on their website, “[…] we’ve taken care of the technology. All you have to do is find something beautiful […].”

“3D” touch features

Peek and Pop and Quick Actions are two new functions that can sense the weight of your finger, allowing you to open up emails, text messages, maps and more in a “quick view.” These features help you navigate all of your information more quickly and efficiently. While perusing Apple’s website, you can tell that there is much excitement behind this latest development in technology. In fact, one of the main goals of the tech world now is developing technology that makes your interactions with your devices more natural and seamless. These new 3D touch features on the iPhone are definitely something to be excited about.

But at the end of the day, as Viet points out, it’s all about personal preference. If you’re older iPhone works just fine for you, and the above features don’t call at you to upgrade now, then there’s really no point. It’s all about what works best for you.
